Kathmandu Grid Division(KGD) is an integral Department of Nepal Electricity Authority, a corporation incorporated under the law of Nepal. The Grid Operation Department is responsible for transmitting reliable and quality power from distance generators to various load centers.

Besides Grid Operation Department carries out overall operation and maintenance of national gird and Power Trade Department executes the trading of power with Independent Power Producers and also carries out the business activities of power exchange and trading of power with India.
